Farnsworth Roofing is a locally owned and operated business, led by Darin and Erin Vooght. Established in 1997 by Geoff and Yvonne Farnsworth, the company is built on strong family values and a commitment to the local community.
Both Darin and Erin were born and raised in Taranaki. Darin brings over 20 years of hands-on roofing experience, along with a proven track record in project management across New Zealand and Australia. Prior to taking ownership, he spent six years with Farnsworth Roofing, progressing from Roofing Foreman to Project Manager and then Commercial Manager. Erin contributes extensive international experience, having worked in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, with a professional background in office management and HR. The couple returned to New Plymouth in 2015 to raise their family, drawn home by the region’s excellent schools, strong community spirit and unique lifestyle.
In 2018, Geoff and Yvonne sold Farnsworth Roofing to Darin and Erin. Confident in their leadership, expertise and shared values, this transition ensured continuity without compromising the company’s high standards or the wellbeing of its team. Since then, Darin and Erin have continued to strengthen Farnsworth Roofing’s reputation for quality, reliability and strong community connection.

Darin Vooght - Director
Darin leads Farnsworth Roofing with a strong focus on quality workmanship, practical solutions and building lasting relationships with clients.
With extensive experience of over 20 years in the roofing industry, Darin oversees project delivery and works closely with the team to ensure each job is completed to a high standard. His hands-on knowledge and leadership help guide the technical direction of the business while supporting the team to deliver consistent results across a wide range of roofing projects.

Erin Vooght – Accounts Manager
Erin oversees the business accounts and financial administration, alongside overseeing marketing and communications. With experience gained from living and working in several countries, she brings a warm, organised and adaptable approach to both clients and the team.
A proud mum of two, Erin values family and community. She takes pride in supporting the growth of the business in a way that reflects its core values, with a genuine commitment to the team and the wider New Plymouth community.

Liz Cole - Operations Manager
Liz plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of Farnsworth Roofing, helping ensure the business runs smoothly across projects, people and processes. She joined the team in 2014 after a successful career in banking and has since become an integral part of the company’s operational leadership.
As Operations Manager, Liz oversees a wide range of responsibilities including operational coordination, administration, health and safety systems and HR support. She helps ensure communication, systems and processes remain aligned as the business continues to grow.
Liz holds a Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety (Level 4) and brings strong organisational skills, business insight and a practical, solutions-focused approach to her role. Known for her attention to detail and ‘get stuck in’ attitude, Liz is often the person connecting the many moving parts of the business.

Dean Cameron - Sales & Estimating Manager
Dean brings over 30 years of experience in the roofing industry and plays a key role in supporting clients through the quoting and project planning process.
With a background in roofing product manufacturing and management, Dean has extensive knowledge of roofing systems and materials. His practical experience allows him to recommend the right solutions for a wide range of roofing projects.
As Sales Manager, Dean works closely with clients to understand their needs and prepares clear, accurate quotations for new roofs, re-roofs, remedial work and leak investigations.

Jared Tate – Project & Training Development Manager
Jared brings over 20 years of roofing experience, with a background that spans from hands-on installation, site leadership, project management and team development. Having worked his way up from the tools, he has a strong practical understanding of delivering quality outcomes on site.
In his role, Jared works closely with our site teams to support project delivery, maintain quality standards, and help develop the next generation of roofers at Farnsworth Roofing.

With a background in interior design, she brings strong organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail to her work. Abbie also manages Farnsworth Roofing’s social media, keeping the community up to date with project highlights and company news.
New to the roofing industry, Abbie is quick to learn and brings energy, enthusiasm and precision to everything she does.
